The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will spread the joy of the coming holiday season during the 2011 Coca-Cola Holiday Concerts from December 1-31, 2011, including: Handel's MESSIAH and Bach's MAGNIFICAT on December 1 and 3, 2011; ATLANTA SYMPHONY GOSPEL CHRISTMAS on December 2 and 3, 2011; ATLANTA SYMPHONY KID'S CHRISTMAS on December 4 and 11, 2011; the 45th anniversary of CHRISTMAS WITH THE ASO on December 8-10, 2011; A VERY MERRY HOLIDAY POPS on December 16 and 17, 2011; Celtic Woman's CELTIC CHRISTMAS on December 20, 2011; and ATLANTA SYMPHONY NEW YEAR'S EVE - DANCING AND ROMANCING! on December 31, 2011. All concerts will take place in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.

This year, the Orchestra will celebrate the 45th anniversary of CHRISTMAS WITH THE ASO - a beloved Atlanta holiday tradition in which more than 400 musicians and singers will pay homage to the legendary Robert Shaw and his ultimate gift to the city he loved. Director of Choruses Norman Mackenzie will return to lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, the Morehouse College Glee Club, and the Gwinnett Young Singers, in a visionary, four-part interpretation of the greatest story ever told. Large wreaths, holiday lights, and other festive décor will adorn Atlanta Symphony Hall.

This holiday season, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will once again join Atlanta's annual Toys for Tots campaign. The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November, and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra musicians, chorus, guest artists, staff, and concertgoers are encouraged to bring new, non-wrapped toys or books for children in need (up to 18 years of age) to any Atlanta Symphony Orchestra holiday concert. Donations will also be accepted online through the Orchestra's website.
