Marietta, GA is a charming, history-filled town in metro Atlanta, home to your blues examiner and the subject of her book, Haunted Marietta. It is also the home of a great place to eat and listen to great live blues: Nik's Place.

Nik's Place is an unusual location for a blues venue. with an out-of[-the-ordinary proprietor as well. Nik of Nik's Place came to Marietta from Athens, Greece in 1994 He became the owner of Nik's Place in 2005. The restaurant, which offers pasta, sandwiches, and bar food in addition to Greek specialties, is located in a historic 1868 farmhouse on Whitlock Avenue.

As for the music, it's cooking as well. Wednesday and Thursday nights are open jam nights, while the weekends offer the best local blues and rock perfrormers (Mondays and Tuesdays are reserved for Texas Hold-em.) This month, do not miss The Mother Truckers, with the incredibly soulful, bluesy Teal Collins on lead vocals. in addition, other performers at Nik's in February include Beau Hall, The Funky Kings, and more. Check out the calendar on the website for the details!

Good food, historic surroundings, and great music..what more could you want? It's all here at Nik's Place, 645 Whiltock Avenue, Marietta, GA.
