Gulf oil spill made you angry? Worried about global warming? Tired of (typically) rising gas prices?

Well, Atlanta-based Wheego Electric Cars this week put its Whip LiFe two-seat subcompact on the market. Reserve yours today at www.wheego.net.

CEO Mike McQuary said his company is “the first to offer an affordable all-electric car in the U.S.” and customers should be driving a red, white, black, blue, silver or green Wheego by year’s end.

The Whip LiFe’s lithium battery pack affords about 100 miles per charge. Driver and passenger airbags, anti-lock brakes, air conditioning and power windows come standard.

Built in California, the car retails for $32,995, but is eligible for a $7,500 federal tax credit and various state rebates.
