Southern rapper Gucci Mane discusses his impact to the Atlanta, Georgia area and why his black star power is currently in full effect in the new issue of The Source magazine.
If you ask Gucci, he's reached a level of fame that makes it impossible for him to go publicly unnoticed.
"I'm so big in Atlanta right now, I can't even go outside," Gucci explained. "It never used to be like this. Now old people, white people, all people know who I am. Like people almost wrecking their car to take a picture of my car...Yesterday, I'm in my Ferrari, I get pulled over, the cop comes to the car and says, 'Sorry, I just wanna see the inside of your Ferrari.' I swear to God." (The Source)
In the feature, Gucci also discusses being more intelligent than he's perceived to be.
"When I came out of school, I had a 3.4 GPA," said Gucci, who went to Georgia Perimeter College. "I was always a smart guy. I always prided myself on being a challenger and making challenging decisions. I'm not perfect, but I definitely try my best to be a good person that makes wise decisions." (The Source)
Along with fans knowing his music, Gucci recently inked an eye-catching ice cream cone onto his face.
SO ICEY! Gucci Mane hopped up out of rehab/mental facility a couple days ago. And he may need to demand a refund. Dude visited Tenth Street Tattoo in Atlanta today. And got this brand new little nugget of classiness--a big *ss ice cream cone complete with color, 3 scoops and the word "Brrr"--covering his whole right facial cheek. Wow. Tattoo artist and owner of the shop, Shane Willoughby, is the artist behind Gucci's newest tattoo addition. And the master piercer in the shop--Jason Murray--tweeted the pics. (The YBF)
The tattoo was later confirmed by his publicist, Kali Bowyer.
Rapper Gucci Mane, 30, revealed his latest tattoo today (January 13)--an ice cream cone located on his right cheek--causing many fans to question the reasoning behind the artwork. Kali Bowyer, Gucci's spokesperson, spoke to Rolling Stone about the meaning of the image. "It's a reminder to fans of how he chooses to live his life," she said. "Cool as ice. As in 'I'm so icy, I'll make ya say Brr.'" Bowyer also said the design was inspired by a medallion that Gucci has worn for years. (XXL Mag)
